Prophetess Ada M. Poole Charter Member
Prophetess Ada Poole was born July 4, 1942 in Person County, North Carolina to Hattie Mae Williams and the late Charlie Robert Williams.
She received her education in the Person County Public School System and always eager to learn. After moving from North Carolina to New York City and finally to Washington, DC, she continued her learning in Special Education.
In 1959, Ada married her high school sweet heart, Charlie L. Poole, Sr. and this union was blessed with three children, Beverly Poole King, Charlie L. Poole, Jr. and Pamela Poole.
In 1976 she rededicated her life to the Lord Jesus Christ and began to work out her soul’s salvation. She worked diligently with the young people, in Sunday School and the Usher Board at the New Born Church of God in Christ in Fairmount Heights, Maryland. She was one of the founders of The Soul Saving Center of Christ Church, Washington, DC in 1980. She served relentlessly as Treasurer and other capacities. In 1994 she was appointed Assistant Pastor of Education.
Prophetess Poole never sought the spotlight, but was active in the community. She was a member of the District of Columbia Autism Society of America and served as President and Treasurer during a period of time. In 1972 she lobbied Congress and led a successful protest to improve the quality of education for students enrolled in Special Education. In 1990 after the implementation of the Time-Dollar Revive Neighbor Program in the Washington, DC area, she spent Mondays, teaching reading skills to elderly students.
Prophetess Poole went home to be with the Lord on April 3, 1997. One of her favorite songs was “May the Works I’ve Done, Speak for Me.” Her legacy will continue through Soul Saving Center of Christ Ministry. I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day; the night cometh, when no man can work. St. John 9:4.
